Nodaway Valley High School students attend classes in a facility with a performance center, two gyms, a large weight room, and a cafeteria/commons area. Through a 1:1 laptop initiative, students have access to resources that engage them in their learning, prepare them for 21st-century careers, and provide collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
To earn a diploma at Nodaway Valley, students must complete a rigorous four-year English and math program. A four-year Spanish program is also available. Students attend classes on an alternating two-day block schedule.
In addition, students may earn credit through Advanced Placement and postsecondary courses. Many students earn high school and college credit through Southwestern Community College's vocational programs.
The graduation rate at Nodaway Valley is 99 percent, and nearly 80 percent of Nodaway Valley graduates continue their education.
Nodaway Valley is a member of the Pride of Iowa Activities Conference. Multiple extracurricular activities are offered, including band, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance line, drama, FFA, football, golf, soccer, softball, speech, student council, track and field, vocal music, volleyball, wrestling, archery, and the yearbook.
