The First Annual NVMS Mathematics Hunger Games Ceremony was held on March 27! Tributes have worked hard all year, earning their way into the mathematics hunger games. Each week, following the opening ceremonies, the tributes will compete against each other through a series of math problems in order to advance to the next level. But only one tribute can be Victor of the NVMS Mathematics Hunger Games! Study hard, practice, and let the numbers forever be in your favor!
High School Attendance—Click here to view the new Board-approved high school student attendance policy effective immediately. Please note: student absences due to a doctor’s appointment must have a doctor’s note and students will not be allowed to leave the building to go home or to their vehicles to retrieve items. These attendance policy changes also impact eligibility for post-secondary education opportunity/online/academy classes.
After School Study Time at Middle School—As we begin second semester, we are starting a program to help students make up assignments and assessments. We will intervene weekly if a student is failing or scoring 2.0 in a class. Most likely it means a student has missing assignments or assessments. This program will be updated every Monday. We are hoping by intervening early and requiring students to stay after school, students will get caught up, increase learning and will see the importance of meeting deadlines.
